HYDERABAD, Nov 9: Two residents of Qasimabad have appealed to district police authorities to provide them with protection against land grabbers and extortionists.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, Abdul Qadeer Shaikh, resident of B-27 in Qasimabad, and Israr Shah, complained that their properties had been occupied by a group of land grabbers and they were also being threatened with dire consequences.

Mr Shaikh said the land grabbers had occupied his houses, B-8 and B-10, in Hyderabad Town, phase-II.

He said the land grabbers had prepared fake documents of the houses and were recovering rent while he himself was paying instalments of the House Building Finance Corporation loan.

Mr Shah said the land grabbers had attacked his house, C-2, Hyderabad Town, to expel him from the house.

He said the police had rushed to the spot and arrested some of the hooligans but others who were still at large were threatening him and his family members with dire consequences.
