LAHORE: Four industrial units fined

LAHORE, Nov 8: Four industrial units were on Saturday fined Rs45,000 by a judicial magistrate for failing to comply with the pollution control orders issued by the district environment officer.

Ahsan Raza Fibreglass, Makhdoom Poultry Proteins, Bashir Lime Kiln and Zulfiqar Glass were fined for causing air and water pollution.

The court also issued warrants for the arrest of eight factory managements for failing to comply with the environment officer order.

Fines totalling Rs65,000 were imposed on five industrial units last month.
