ISLAMABAD, Nov 7: Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has confirmed her participation in the forthcoming Saarc summit to be held in Islamabad early next year.

The confirmation was made through a letter delivered by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, F. A. Shamim Ahmad, to Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali. Mr Ahmad called on Mr Jamali at the Prime Minister’s House here on Friday.

Talking to the high commissioner, Mr Jamali said that his government was looking forward to the implementation of the free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries. He hoped the FTA would further boost the bilateral trade.

Mr Jamali stressed more exchanges between the two states specially in sports and culture.

The high commissioner discussed proposals for the expansion of trade and economic relations with the prime minister.
