KARACHI, Nov 7: A two-member Pakistan squad is due to leave for Hyderabad (India) to figure in International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Billiards Championship to be played there during Nov 17-26.
Former world amateur snooker champion Yousuf and reigning national billiards champion Khurram will be representing the country in the 10-day competition.
A spokesman of Pakistan Billiards Snooker Association (PBSA) said on Friday the Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) has sent them clearance letter from Indian Interior and Sports Ministries.
PBSA will be despatching the passports of Yousuf and Khurram to Indian High Commission in Islamabad for issuance of visa.
Andhra Perdesh Billiards and Snooker Association is organizing the championship on behalf of BSFI with approval from IBSF.
BSFI are providing free air passage, boarding and lodging and daily allowance for the duration of the championship to the Pakistani cueists.
A prize money of UK 5200 will be on offer in the championship. Winner will get UK 2000, runner-up UK1200. losing semifinalist UK 600 each and losing quarterfinalist UK400 each.
World leading 48 cueists will be taking part in the championship.—APP
