Warwickshire sign Hogg

LONDON, Nov 7: English cricket county Warwickshire have signed Australian spinner Brad Hogg for 2004 season.

The county originally tried to sign him for the 2003 season but he was busy with international commitments.

They instead turned to Kenyan Collins Obuya, but the gamble was not a success and Warwickshire expect Hogg to prove a more potent weapon.

Chief executive Dennis Amiss said: “Brad’s world class spin bowling will provide control and penetration we have been searching for.”

Hogg was a key part in Australia’s World Cup winning team after he was called up to replace Shane Warne.—PPI
