LAHORE, Nov 6: Deadly bowling by right-arm pacemen Muhammad Farid Khan and Adeel Malik, who shared all the 10 second innings wickets, enabled Karachi Port Trust (KPT) to earn an overwhelming 94 runs win over Higher Education Commission (HEC) in the Patron’s Trophy qualifying round at LCCA Ground on Thursday.
Farid finished with the figure of six for 27 in 12.3 overs and Adeel had four for 51 as HEC were bundled out for 86 in the second innings in 27.3 overs while chasing a target of 181.
HEC had conceded a lead of 78 runs on first innings, but fought by bowling KPT for 102 in the second innings, after they resumed at 16 for four.
Fiery bowling by Kabir Khan helped Habib Bank Limited (HBL) carve out an innings and 28 runs win against SAGA.
HBL’s who gained a massive lead of 199 in first innings by scoring a formidable total of 432 in the first innings and bowling SAGA out for 233, again succeeded to skittle out SAGA for 171 in the second innings.
Kabir Khan grabbed six wickets for 31 to complete a match- haul of 10 for 98.
For SAGA, Haroon Iftikhar produced a defiant knock of 72 with 13 boundaries.
Pacer Abdul Rauf celebrated his inclusion in the national training camp with a match-haul of 11 for 110 as he guided Allied Bank Limited (ABL) to earn an emphatic an innings and 43 runs win over Leo International.
Leo after conceding a lead of 167 in the first innings, repeated a poor performance in the second innings as were bowled out for 124 with Faisal Ashraf cracking another half- century 55. He scored 51 in the first innings.
Rauf, who had picked up five wickets for 51 in the first innings captured six more wickets for 59 in the second.
A defiant century by Asif Iqbal and half-century by Muhammad Asif denied National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) victory against Service Industries as their match ended in draw at Gymkhana, Ground Okara.
Service, after suffering a loss of 25-runs on the deficit of first innings, were 281 for six in the second innings when the regulation time ended.
Asif scored unbeaten 113 off 196 balls while Asif valiant’s 76 off 132 balls took the match away from the bankers.
