Dera DPO ignores Nazim’s message

Published November 7, 2003

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Nov 6: Altercation between the district Nazim and the district police officer was at its peak when the latter refused to send his team on the wireless message of the former to defuse tension on his agriculture farm.

The DPO took the plea that the Nazim should have approached him through proper channel, it is learnt on Thursday.

Reports said the Bugtis had a clash with Legharis on the agriculture farm at Choti Zaireen over a dispute. The district Nazim sought police help to avoid any untoward incident.

Sources said the ASP was ready to act upon the wireless message of the Nazim, but when the matter was brought to the notice of the DPO, he refused to send force.

The Nazim and DPO were not available for comments when this correspondent tried to contact them.
