PIA trounce Navy inside two days

KARACHI, Nov 5: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) maintained their winning run in the qualifying rounds of Patron’s Trophy beating Navy by an innings and 92 runs inside two days at PCB Regional Academy Ground on Tuesday to register their third win in a row.

Navy made 86 in their first innings and were bowled out for 111 in their second innings. PIA declared their first innings at 289 for nine wickets after having resumed at the overnight score of 146 for three wickets.

CUSTOMS V PWD

Pakistan Customs took a slender 13 runs lead against Pak PWD on the second day of the three day match.

PWD were bowled out for 232 in 81.5 overs in reply to Customs first innings score of 245. By the close Customs had reached 25 for one wicket.

Faisal Athar hit a fighting 85 with six fours and brace of sixes. Saad Wasim finished 29 not out.

Right arm leg spinner Shahid Mahmood caused the main trouble in PWD batting ranks with four wickets for 109 runs in marathon 34 overs.

Defence Housing Authority (DHA) took a valuable 90 runs lead against Dewan Farooqi Motors Ltd (DFML).

DFML were dismissed for 161 in their first innings in reply to DHA first innings total of 251.

By draw of stumps DHA were reeling at 71 for seven wickets.

DHA at one stage were 39 for seven but Iqbal Ahmed (18) and Azam Hussain (11) added 32 runs for the unbroken eighth wicket.
