Rain brings cold wave in Swat

Published November 6, 2003

MINGORA, Nov 5: Rain and snowfall lashed the hilly areas of Swat valley on Wednesday.  The rain with intervals brought a cold wave in the weather. Some parts of the valley remained in the grip of fog.

The rain caused damage to the electricity lines in the area and the power remained suspended for most of the time.

Due to failure of the drainage system the rainwater turned into ponds on the city roads.

The mountains of upper Swat, especially Kalam, Behrain, Madyan and Miandam are in the grip of cold waves.
