By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Nov 5: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has said the provincial government will approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and other financial agencies for provision of funds to construct dams in the province to resolve water shortage problem and promote agriculture sector.

He was speaking to the tribal elders of Hanna valley during his visit to the area on Wednesday.

The governor assured them that the government was making concerted efforts to compensate the losses suffered by the growers due to the drought in the province.

In view of the drought, he urged the farmers to use water with care and thrift. The growers should strictly follow modern procedures to save water and improve the quality of cultivation, he suggested.

Owais Ghani said the Balochistan government would not only talk to the federal government but would also request the IMF and ADB to grant funds for constructing dams in the province.
