QUETTA, Nov 5: The provincial government has nominated Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, MMA’s provincial president, as a arbitrator to help resolve a conflict between Luni and Marri tribes over a dispute on coal-mine ownership in Chamalang.

The dispute has claimed 20 lives on both sides in the area.

The sources said that the government had asked Maulana Sherani to play his role as an arbitrator and Speaker of Balochistan Assembly Haji Jamal Shah Kakar would assist him.

Mr Kakar would leave for Loralai on Thursday to meet tribal chieftains and lead a jirga to ascertain views of elders of Luni and Marri tribes.
