PESHAWAR, Nov 5:The Hizb-ut-Tahrir has urged the Muslim world to prepare itself for future challenges.

Speaking at an iftar-cum-dinner here at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, Naveed Butt, a spokesman for the Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Pakistan chapter observed that the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq by the US and its allies was an eye opener for the Muslim world and added that now it was very difficult for the Muslim rulers to side with the US on global issues.

Different Pakistani governments over the years implemented policies of the World Bank and the IMF in Pakistan, he said.

He underlined the need for replacing the outdated socio-economic order with a just and welfare-oriented system of Islam. Capitalism had failed to reduce the gap between the rich and poor of the country, he said.

He also criticized the present privatization policy and termed it a capitalists’ plan to get hold of the public sector’s resources.

Mr Butt said owing to feudalism more the 50,000 hectors of land in Pakistan was barren. The government never tried to distribute lands for cultivation among the poor people who owned not even a small house in Pakistan.

He said establishing Khilfah was the only solution to the problems faced by the masses.
