KARACHI: Managing board for CHK soon

KARACHI, Nov 5: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has directed to constitute a management board for Civil Hospital Karachi.

The governor issued the directive while chairing a meeting regarding hospital affairs here on Wednesday. The CHK MS, Capt Raza Ali, apprised the meeting of details concerning the hospital.

Dr Ibad ordered that essential line of action to constitute the management board should be prepared within two weeks. Keeping in view the immediate requirement for medicines in the hospital, he ordered to release of Rs2.5 million for this purpose.

He observed that the establishment of hospital management board was necessary for the attainment of objective of private- public partnership and improvement in the hospital conditions.

The governor issued directives for improvement in the hospital’s sanitary conditions as well as its sewerage system, besides construction of passage ways for patients, wheel chairs and stretchers. Moreover, he ordered for immediate appointment of sweepers as per rules and regulations.

He agreed to the proposal for setting up of a modern laundry shop and appreciated the efforts made by M.S. for making the machinery for disposal of hospital waste functional.

Dr Ibad called for devising an effective system for ensuring the punctuality of doctors and other staff. He made it clear that action would be taken against the staff in case of showing negligence and carelessness. —APP
