KARACHI: Free eye camp inaugurated


KARACHI, Nov 5: Sindh Minister for Women Development Dr Saeeda Malik has termed serving the poor, disabled and needy people without any discrimination worship.

She was addressing as a chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of a free eye camp set up by the Sewa Social Welfare Organization (SSWO) at Anklesaria Eye Hospital here on Wednesday.

Appreciating the efforts by the organizers for holding the camp, the minister said that people who could not afford high expenses on eye treatment would be benefited through such camps.

The minister inquired about the health and treatment methods from the patients admitted at the camp and assured them of her full support in this regard.

Dr Malik urged the philanthropists to extend their financial help and come forward for the cause of people’s welfare. She said that assistance could be provided to the people in a better way with the joint efforts of public and private sector organizations.

Apprising the minister of the objectives for holding such camp, SSWO President Begum Salma Murrad said that about 20 patients had been admitted in the camp so far. She said that cataract operations of more than 200 patients were expected to be carried out at the camp. —APP
