Muslim students avoiding US, says study

By Our Correspondent

LOS ANGELES, Nov 5: The “war on terrorism” and racial incidents appear to be deterring young people from Muslim countries from studying in the United States, according to a study.

The number of Middle East students attending colleges and universities fell 10 per cent last fall, the Institute of International Education said.

More than one-fourth of 276 educational institutions surveyed reported a significant decline in students from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the UAE.
