Hashmi’s release demanded

SUKKUR, Nov 4: Activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-N took out a procession here on Tuesday to protest against the arrest of party leader and Alliance for Restoration of Democracy president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.

The protesters after marching through the main roads of the city held a demonstration in front of the press club.

Talking to the protesters, PML-N women’s wing president Shamim Razzaq, Aqeela Khan and Zahid Hussain Shoro condemned the arrest of their leader and termed it political victimization.

They demanded release of Mr Hashmi.

They also demanded resignation of National Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Ameer Hussain and said he had failed to protect the rights of an MNA.

SHIKARPUR: A meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-N was held here on Tuesday to condemn the arrest of party leader Javed Hashmi.

The meeting termed the arrest an instance of political victimization and violation of democratic norms.

It demanded that the PML-N and Alliance for Restoration of Democracy leader should be immediately released.
