Muslim world urged to forge unity

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 4: The central leader of Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal (MMA), Liaquat Baloch, has said the concept of secularism, capitalism and western civilization spelled disaster for the Muslims.

According to a press release issued by Jamaat-i-Islami on Monday, the MMA leader made this observation at Iftar parties hosted in his honour at Islamabad and Lahore.

Mr Baloch said Islam had been a target of conspiracies hatched by the its enemies. Following a wave of oppression committed against Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine, the targets of the infidels are very clear, he added.

However, the Muslim powers have failed to come up with a united and common stance against their enemies, the MMA leader said.

He said division among parliamentarians on the issue of Legal Framework Order and other issues was the cause of instability in the country.

Criticizing dictatorship in the country, he said the entire nation as well as the Parliament were not willing to accept the unconstitutional and undemocratic system.

Mr Baloch also condemned the detention of Alliance for Restoration of Democracy President Javed Hashmi.
