KARACHI: Pakistan and India to release 167 fishermen

KARACHI, Nov 3: Pakistan will release 74 Indian fishermen and their 23 fishing boats on Tuesday, whereas 93 Pakistani fishermen are also expected to be released by the Indian authorities the same day.

A formal repatriation ceremony will be held at MSA ship MSS Nazim on Tuesday morning. Later, the MSA ship will escort the Indian fishing boats to Indian waters.

The Fishermen Cooperative Society has arranged some boats for towing the damaged Indian launches to the Indian waters.

Pakistan has already released 269 fishermen early September this year in a goodwill gesture. On the other hand, India has also released Pakistani fishermen as a reciprocal step.— APP
