Pakistan beaten in sixes final

HONG KONG, Nov 2: Robert Croft helped England clinch a memorable win over favourites Pakistan to win the Hong Kong Sixes on Sunday.

Croft hit 31 runs and claimed two wickets for four as England beat the reigning champions by 21 runs in the final at Kowloon Cricket Club.

Victory and a $90,000 (53,000) cheque was sweet revenge for losing to Pakistan in last year’s final. Earlier, England beat New Zealand by four wickets in the semis of the five-over competition.

Although Man-of-the-Final Croft finished with an impressive five wickets and 125 runs over the weekend, the Man-of-the-Tournament award went to Sri Lanka’s Saman Jayantha for his 152 runs and three wickets.—PPI
