Suleman shines


KARACHI, Nov 2: A dashing unbeaten knock of 79 runs by Suleman Hudda, backed up by some fine spin bowling by Zulfiqar P. Khan, enabled the home side Aga Khan Gymkhana register a five-wicket victory over Aleem Sports in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan festival cricket league played on Sunday.

Aleem Sports were dismissed for 136 runs in 25 overs with Zeeshan Jameel (36), Mujahid Hussain (29) and Waqar (24) among the runs.

Skipper Zulfiqar P. Khan was easily the pick of the Aga Khan Gymkhana attack, claiming three wicket for 22 runs. He was ably supported by Rahim Suleman two for 22 and Ameer Ali Akbar two for 26. With Suleman Hudda smashing seven boundaries and one six in his unbeaten knock of 79 runs, Aga Khan Gymkhana reached the target for the loss of five wickets. Zohaib Nawaz chipped in with 26 runs. Mujahid Hussain bagged two wickets for 16 runs.

In a match played earlier in the morning session, Mohammad Hussain CC beat Khatri Sports by a huge margin of 82 runs.

Mohammad Hussain CC scored 182 runs for the loss of eight wickets with Agha Sabir (54), Azhar Gul (43) were the main scorers. Salman Yaseen picked up four for 27.

Khatri Sports were restricted to 100 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Vazir Zada scored 36 and Arslan Javaid 26.
