KARACHI, Nov 2: Despite an unbeaten 82 by Rashid Ali Pakistan Customs recorded a ten-wicket win over Pakistan Navy in Patrons Cricket Trophy qualifying rounds on the third and final day at PCB Regional Academy Ground on Sunday.
Navy were all-out for 279 in their second innings after they were skittled out for a paltry 86 in their first outing.
Customs needing 54 to win, reached the target without any loss. Kashif Siddique made hard hitting 27 not out in mere 22 balls with the aid of six hits to the ropes. Rawait Khan cracked an undefeated 25 with three 4s and a six after facing just 14 balls.
Match ended twenty minutes after lunch break.
This was Customs first win which gave them 12 after they lost to PIA in their opening pool ‘A’ league game.
At stumps on second day, Navy were facing an innings defeat but a superb 90 runs 9th wicket stand between Rashid and Muhammad Ali saved them from humiliation.
Rashid struck seven boundaries and a massive straight six off Junaid Zia over mid-off after batting for 226 minutes. Muhammad Ali gave him an excellent support with a fine 50 in 115 minutes and it included seven boundaries.
Tailender Kamran Ahmed also hit an enterprising 47 off 58 containing seven hits to the boundary.
Paceman Imran Ali finished with four wickets for 47 runs in 17.2 overs. Leg spinner Shahid Mahmood ended with five wickets for 59 runs, without adding any wicket on the final day.
