GHALLANAI (Mohmand Agency), Nov 2: Pakistani troops and Afghan border forces exchanged fire in Mohmand region, officials said here on Sunday.

An official told Dawn from Peshawar on phone that army personnel had suffered no casualty, confirming clashes between Pakistani and Afghan forces.

Officials said that skirmishes, which started late Saturday night took place in Spina Bara, Yaqoobi Kandau and Gosari and both sides used heavy artillery and machine guns.

Witnesses said that it was a fierce clash between the two forces since Islamabad moved its regular forces towards Mohmand region, bordering Afghanistan’s Kunar and Nangarhar provinces.
