Saarc ministers’ moot next week

NEW DELHI, Nov 1: The third meeting of the information ministers of Saarc will be held here on Nov 10-12, a newspaper report quoted government officials as saying.

The meeting’s agenda, the report said, would be finalized at an inter-ministerial meeting to be held here on Nov 3, the news report said.

Meanwhile, talking to journalists at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said he would represent the country at the moot.

“I am carrying a message of peace to India with the hope they will reciprocate it in a positive manner,” said the minister expressing the hope that the next Saarc summit, being held in Pakistan in January 2004, would prove to be a milestone in achieving lasting peace in the South Asian region.”—APP
