India in must win situation

LAHORE, Nov. 1: India will take on Pakistan in a must  win situation in Under-19 Asia Cup cricket at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

Pakistan by winning the opener against Bangladesh by 117 runs at Karachi is in better placed as compare to India, who had lost their opening match against Sri Lanka.

The toss will play an important role. The team which will  bat is likely to face the problems due to morning dew which India had experienced against Sri Lanka.

Gamini Silva (Sri Lanka) and Nadir Shah (Bangladesh) are  two umpires with Iftikhar Malik (TV umpire) and Zamir Haider reserve umpire. Sultan Rana is the Match Referee.

The match will start at 9am.

Teams:

Pakistan (from): Sohail Ahmad, Khalid Latif (captain), Jehangir Mirza, Shahid Yousaf, Khurram Manzoor, Salman Qadir, Mansoor Amjad, Zulqarnain Hyder (wicket-keeper), Mohammad Altaf, Wahab Riaz, Riaz Afridi, Zia-ur-Rehman, Ali Imran Pasha, Tariq Mahmood.

India (from): A.T Rayudu (captain), Irfan Pathan, Rakesh Solanki, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Riyush Chawla, Suresh Raina, V.RSingh, Saurav Sarkar, Sahil Kukreta, Sunny Singh, Shivkant Smukla.

APP adds from Karachi: Sri Lankans will be looking for their second win and possibly book a place in the final of Asian Under-19 Asia Cup when they clash Bangladesh at National Stadium on Sunday.

Sri Lanka handed out India four-wicket defeat at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and Pakistan beat Bangladesh by convincing margin of 117 runs at National Stadium Karachi in their opening games last Friday.

Considering Lankan’s allround strength, they are favourites to reach the final. A defeat for Bangladesh will end any of their hope of playing in the final on Nov 6 final at Lahore.

Pakistan’s Mian Aslam and S.K.Sharma (India) will be supervise the match. Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Taslim Arif will be the match referee.
