PESHAWAR, Nov 1: Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has said the MMA government is taking steps to enforce Shariat and to introduce interest-free banking in the province.

He was presiding over a meeting after a surprise visit and inspection of the head office of the Bank of Khyber at Peshawar Cantonment.

Additional Chief Secretary Mir Laiq Shah, bank’s Managing Director Dr Munir Ahmed, Executive Vice President Qazi Munirul and others also attended the meeting.

The meeting took stock of the financial and administrative matters of the Bank of Khyber, besides thoroughly reviewing arrangements for launching the interest-free banking and took certain decisions in this respect.—APP
