ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has expressed the hope that Pakistan and India will quickly implement steps to normalize relations.
In a statement, Mr Straw urged both the countries “to continue to work together towards normalising their relations and resolving their differences, including on (the issue of) Kashmir.”
The statement quoted Mr Straw as saying: “I hope both sides will implement quickly the steps on which they agree and work together to close the gap on those where there is less common ground.”
Mr Straw said: “I look forward to discussing with Foreign Minister (Khurshid M.) Kasuri, when I see him next week, the latest proposals by Pakistan and India to improve relations between the two countries.”—APP
