HYDERABAD, Oct 31: The villagers of Goth Noor Khan Chang, union council No4, Qasimabad Taluka, have accused some landlords of tampering with the record and taking over possession of their land worth 272.13 acres in deh Mirzapur Qasimabad.
Speaking at a news conference, Mushtaq Ali Chang, and his other relatives said that one Choudhry Mohammad Sadiq, son of Hukmuddin, had taken 272.13 acres of land on lease from the elders of the Chang family in 1943 for 36 years.
They said that this lease expired in 1979. They, however alleged that later the “Khata” of the land was changed in connivance with the Mukhtiarkar, registrar and Tapedar.
They said that Choudhry Zulfiqar, Choudhry Aijaz and Choudhry Aftab had got the Khata changed and were occupying the entire land except 60 acres which was in their possession.
They alleged that they were being threatened with dire consequences.
They appealed to the higher authorities and the Sardar of Chang community, Kamal Khan Chang, that if any harm came to them, the above persons should be held responsible.
LIAQUAT UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL: The medical superintendent, Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad, Dr Shafqatullah Memon, in a statement issued here on Thursday night has said that some house officers had boycotted wards and OPD for sometime on Thursday morning.
He said these house officers were led by Dr Abdullah Soomro and Dr Waheed Unnar whose services had been terminated a few days back due to misconduct.
He claimed that these two doctors who were posing as the leaders of the house officers used to write prescriptions of costly medicines for OPD patients which were actually not required.
The medical superintendent said that on refusal to supply these medicines, they not only misbehaved but also threatened to kidnap children.
He said that an FIR regarding it was registered at the Market police station.
He said the protest demonstration, in addition to a demand for the reinstatement of these two doctors, was also aimed at the payment of stipend to the remaining house officers.
The medical superintendent clarified that the stipend bill of 81 house officers had been stopped by the district accounts office, Hyderabad, as the relevant notification by the government had not been issued as yet.
He said that the health department, Sindh, had already been approached regarding it.
The medical superintendent made it clear that unless the government arranged funds, the biannual batch of house job doctors would not be absorbed after Nov 16.
