ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: Arab ambassadors in Islamabad have expressed satisfaction over President Pervez Musharraf‘s recently renewed assurances regarding foreign investments in Pakistan.

The Council of Arab Ambassadors met here on Thursday at the residence of Yemeni ambassador Ghaleb Al-Adoofi under the leadership of the dean of Arab and diplomatic corps, Ahmed El-Salman, ambassador of Palestine.

Senate chairman Mohammedmian Soomro was the chief guest. The Arab ambassadors appreciated the current macro-economic stability and investment-friendly atmosphere and reiterated the desire of Arab investors and businessmen to further invest in Pakistan.

The meeting discussed Pakistan-Arab relations in light of recent international developments, including the recent visit to Pakistan by Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah, which highlighted the importance the Arab world attached to further improving relations with Pakistan in all fields of cooperation.

The senate chairman expressed satisfaction over the positive outcome of the visit and stressed the need to consider the exchange of visits between Pakistan and Arab officials as well as parliamentarians besides people-to-people contacts.
