ISLAMABAD, Oct 29: Rich tribute were paid to renowned archaeologist and historian Dr Ahmad Hasan Dani for receiving the prestigious IRCICA award for excellence in research 2003 of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC).

The event was organized on Wednesday by the Taxila Institute of Civilization, Quaid-i-Azam University, in honour of Dr Dani whom the university has appointed professor emeritus.

Dr Dani is the first Asian who has been honoured with this awarded, whereas in the past only historians from America or Europe were given the award. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, QAU vice-chancellor UAG Isani said Dr Dani is not only the pride of the university but also the whole nation.
