Aisam to compete in five events


LAHORE, Oct 28: Pakistan’s top tennis star, Aisam-ul-Haq, faces a challenging task ahead of appearing in five ITF Future international events and leaves for Thailand on Thursday to launch his campaign.

“I know it is quite hectic but I am all set to take the challenge,” said Aisam on Tuesday.

He would play two back-to-back Futures in Thailand, first at Nakorn Ratchasima from Nov 3, followed by a similar assignment at Bangkok from Nov 10.

But something is still a source of inspiration for him and that is his doubles ranking at 180 at international level after winning the doubles title at the Asia Cup Championship last month in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

From Thailand, Aisam, would be flying to Vietnam to appear in a Future tournament in Hanoi from Nov 17.

Aisam would play last two tennis tournaments of the year, in India,taking part in Future event in New Delhi from Nov 24 and another Future in Mumbai in Dec.

He said Indian tour was being sponsored by Pakistan Tennis Federation which will also sponsor Aqeel Ahmad.—APP
