HEC to launch joint higher education project

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 28: The Higher Education Commission has decided to launch a joint higher education linkage programme with British Council, a press release of the commission said here on Tuesday.

The programme aims at strengthening of institutional capacity of the higher education sector in Pakistan by providing opportunities for the local trainers and researchers to improve quality of education being imparted at graduate and postgraduate levels.

The programme entitled ‘Higher Education Commission and British Council Joint Higher Education Links’ at a cost of about Rs35 million was approved at a meeting of Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) held recently at the HEC campus. Under this programme, higher educational links would be established between Pakistan and the UK educational institutions.

These links would be between departments rather than individuals or institutions, but may involve more than one partner at each end.
