GUJRANWALA, Oct 28: At least three people were killed while about six others sustained injuries when a fodder laden tractor-trolley overturned after colliding with a truck near Wazirabad by-pass on Tuesday.

The tractor-trolley was on its way to city from Gujrat when the accident took place. Three labourers, Allah Ditta and Yousaf of Kot Ishaq and Anwar of Ghakkhar Mandi, died on the spot. Lawyers strike: The members of the Gujranwala District Bar Association would observe on Wednesday (today) strike against the demolition of lawyer’s chambers in Lahore.

This was stated by DBA secretary Saeed Bhuttha on Tuesday. Speaking at a meeting here, he alleged that the government was adopting such tactics to stop the lawyers’ movement against the Legal Framework Order (LFO), the enhancement of judges retirement age and the recent order of the apex court for releasing cause lists on a daily basis.

COP INJURED: A head constable of rescue-15 squad was shot at and injured by unidentified men at a picket here on Tuesday.

Head Constable Manzoor Ahmad signalled two suspects on a motorcycle to stop. But they opened fire on him and escaped.

The condition of Manzoor was stated to be critical at the DHQ Hospital.

ELECTROCUTED: A father of six children was electrocuted in Eminabad.

Akram was repairing a washing machine in his house when he suffered an electric shock. He died on the spot.
