President, PM applaud steps for consensus

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali have welcomed steps taken by provincial governments to promote consensus on vital national issues, including the building of water reservoirs.

The president and the prime minister, who met at the Army House in Rawalpindi on Monday, appreciated measures taken by the provincial governments to promote inter-provincial harmony.

The two leaders met a day after the first-ever chief ministers’ conference in Lahore in which concern was expressed over the looming water shortage in the country, and called for construction of new water reservoirs but with consensus.
