PBSA to honour Saleh

KARACHI, Oct 27: Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA), sponsors and supporters of the game will announce cash awards of half a million rupees for world championship runner-up Saleh Muhammad on Tuesday.

The cash awards are expected to be presented to Saleh during a ceremony at Karachi Club on Tuesday to recognise his accomplishments during the recently concluded world championship in Jiangmen City (China).

Thirty one year-old Saleh from Peshawar lost to Pankaj Advani of India 6-11 in the final of World Snooker Championship after winning a record 14 consecutive matches in the event.

Saleh is the second Pakistani to reach the final of world championship. Muhammad Yousuf won the world title for the country at Johannesburg (South Africa) in 1994.—APP
