Published October 28, 2003

KARACHI, Oct 27: The Sindh High Court Bar Association announced its annual election schedule on Monday.

Nomination papers for the offices of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, joint secretary, auditor and nine members of the managing committee will be received from Nov 10 to 17 and the final list of candidates will be published on Nov 22. Balloting will be held on Dec 6 immediately after a general body meeting to be held to consider and approve the outgoing executive’s annual report at 9-30 am.

A number of candidates have already launched their campaign for various offices. Advocates Abdul Hafeez Lakho and Mohammad Ilyas Khan are likely to contest the presidential office.

Meanwhile, SHCBA Secretary Yawar Faruqui deplored on Monday that investigation into the brutal murder of Advocate Mehtab Ahmed’s sister had not been carried out fairly and objectively.

He urged the authorities to bring the culprits to book promptly.
