KARACHI: Work continues on setting up 200 technical institutes
KARACHI, Oct 27: Sindh education minister Irfanullah Marwat said on Monday that the government was making efforts to improve facilities at technical institutes in the province.
Presiding over a meeting of officers of the Sindh technical education, the minister said under the plan teachers would also be appointed for eight new subjects and an SNE had already been approved.
He directed the principals of technical institutes, whose SNE has not been approved and if they required any staff or equipment, to submit him a report within a week so that their problems could be resolved.
He said that the girls who would be completing their diplomas, would also be provided a chance to continue higher education.
The education minister said that modern technologies will be taught in technical and vocational institutes and their budgets would also be enhanced and efforts are on to overcome shortage of teachers in 26 institutes.
Director technical education Siri Cand said that on the directives of the president, work is continuing to opening 200 technical stream institutes in the province and Rs71.9291 million have been allocated for purchasing equipment, hiring of staff and holding of workshops.
Secretary of education Ghulam Ali Pasha, additional secretary Karim Baksh Sarwahi, DO and all principals of technical institutes attended the meeting.—PPI
