Conservation of nature stressed

QUETTA, Oct 25: Speakers at a seminar stressed protection and conservation of environment and natural resources to attain sustainable development.

They highlighted the environmental issues of Balochistan and called for strict implementation of environmental laws and framing policies to conserve and protect nature.

The provincial chapter of the IUCN in collaboration with Balochistan environment protection agency and Pakistan environment law association organized the seminar on Saturday to deliberate on the implementation of Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997.

Seven sessions judges and 13 judicial magistrates, nominated by the BHC chief justice, participated in the event.

Federal Tax Ombudsman Justice Saleem Akhtar (retired), speaking as a chief guest, highlighted the importance of conservation and protection of environment.
