Published October 26, 2003

KARACHI, Oct 26: A complaint cell, set up on the orders of Chief Minister Ali Mohammed Mahar, was inaugurated by his secretary Bakhshal Khan Gadaro at the CM Secretariat on Saturday. The cell, providing phone No.919 to general public, would register complaints against overcharging by shopkeepers and dealers of the items of daily use during the month of Ramazan. It will also help solve problems related to utility services and address grievances against police.

The aim of establishing the cell is to keep prices of essential items under control during the holy month and also to ensure their uninterrupted supply to consumers.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mr Gadaro directed the staff posted at the cell to strive hard to resolving the problems lodged by complainants on 919. Apart from overcharging pertaining to meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, etc., complaints about utility services and police may also be lodged with the cell as Mr Gadaro has asked the officials to pay special attention to such grievances.

The cell offers round the clock service which will continue till Eidul Fitr.—APP/PPI
