The long march reached the port through Manikganj, Goalanda, Faridpur, Modhukhali, Jessore, Noapara, Fultala, Daulatpur, Khulna and Bagerhat. The committee started the march from Dhaka towards Mongla on Oct 19 to press home their demands.

Thousands of people took part in the march from across the country, braving sun and rain along the route.

The 11-party combine, Left Democratic Front, and four-left party combine leaders and workers mainly took part in the long march.
