Fog forces flights’ diversion

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 24: PIA had to divert its five flights, four international and one domestic, from Karachi to Masqat and back to Lahore owing to inclement weather in the morning.

A PIA spokesman told Dawn that due to foggy weather in Karachi on Friday morning, which lasted from 3.30am to 6am, the schedule of flights’ arrival and departure was disturbed. However, all flights which were diverted returned by 8am.

The affected international flights which were diverted to Masqat were PK-732 from Jeddah, PK-236 from Abu Dhabi, PK-242 from Dammam, and PK-226 from Masqat.

The only domestic flight which was affected was PK-405 from Lahore, which went back. Besides, departure of PK-334 for Multan and Faisalabad was also delayed over one-and-half hour due to the fog.
