US energy bill

WASHINGTON, Oct 24: Senate and House energy bill negotiators will not meet on Tuesday to vote on the final language of the legislation because the ethanol tax credit remains “a major stumbling block,” Republican Sen. Charles Grassley said on Friday.

Grassley, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, told reporters that he and counterpart Rep. Bill Thomas, head of the House Ways and Means Committee, were unable to reach an agreement on ethanol tax changes.—Reuters
