KARACHI, Oct 24: Five vessels carrying steel scrap, chemicals and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow as only three ships, Al-Ihsaa, to unload and load containers, Naga to offload crude oil and Mont Blanc to load molasses were berthed after the departure of four.

The ships, which departed were led by Al-Ihsaa, Hyundai Highway, Ya Hai and Olar, while Norasia, Naga, Kota Waruna, Cape Henry, Sinar Bangka, Badulu Valley and Sargodha are due to sail out on Saturday.

Owing to larger handling of the liquid cargo, the total tonnage rose to 0.106m tons comprising 20,026 tons of export cargo and 85,305 tons of import tonnage, including 65,365 tons of liquid cargo.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Gina-M, with 28,000 tons of steel scrap, Nur Yanbu, with chemicals, Addarraq and Bon Cecil, to load 22,000 and 31,000 tons of molasses, respectively, City of London and Ocean Starlight, with containers.
