LAHORE, Oct 22: Balochistan outclassed NWFP 4-2 to enter the final of the Inter-provincial Under-16 hockey championship at the end of league stage on second day at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

Punjab has already qualified for the final.

NWFP led the first half 1-0 due to their captain Fawad  Khan’s field goal scored in the 26th minute.

Balochistan scored the equaliser through their skipper  Uzair, who converted a short corner in the 46th minute.

On first day, six goals by left-in Shafqat Rasool included  a hat trick and three by skipper Shahzad Ali helped Punjab trounce Azad Kashmir 16-0.

Shafqat  scored the first goal in the 3rd  minute then  Shahzad  doubled the lead.  Shafqat completed his hat trick in the 7th and 10th minute. Shafaqat also scored goals in the 17th  and the 26th minute. Shahzad scored his remaining two goals in the 30th and the 34th minutes.

The  other  scorers of Punjab were Rashid (13th,  44th), Rana Usman (27th, 29th), Rashid  Mahmood  (39th), Khurram Shahzad (57th), Shahbaz (60th).

In  the  second  match of the day, three goals  by  Jamal  and captain Uzair enabled Balochistan thrash Islamabad 14-1.

Uzair  struck  in the 5th, 30th and the  47th  minutes.  Jamal (19th, 21st and 33rd). The  other  scorers  were Shahzad (5th,  50th),  Fahed Afridi  (15th, 57th), Wasif (44th, 61st), Mustafa  (56th) and Ghulam Nabi (63rd).

The  solitary goal for the losers was scored by Farooq in  the 55th minute.

The  final  will be played on Friday. Earlier, NWFP  and  Azad Kashmir play the third position match.

Sindh did not take part in the championship.
