Local govts have replaced old system, says Owais

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Oct 23: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has said the district government system was introduced to replace the political system which was not working properly and there was a lack of new and sincere leadership.

Speaking as chief guest on Thursday at the opening of a two-day seminar organized by the Aurat Foundation on the “Effective Representation of Women Councillors in the Local Government System”, he declared that the district government system would not only remain intact, but also with the passage of time would become stable and strengthen.

The governor asserted that the basic objective of this system was to provide an opportunity to the people to bring forward a new leadership that could help solve social problems.
