DADU, Oct 23: The federal minister for industries and production Liaquat Ali Jatoi has said health, education and irrigation departments of Sindh have collapsed and to improve working of these bodies more funds will be released from the federal government.

He was talking to newsmen at a local hotel here on Thursday evening. He said small factories would be established in neglected areas of the country. He directed irrigation officials to distribute water fairly so that small growers in tail-ends of waterways could get water.

He alleged Awam Dost Panel’s candidate for district Naib Nazim seat, Dost Ali Jaiser, and his supporters had cast bogus votes. The minister said they had kidnapped councillors during the election held on Oct 20.

power units: One of the damaged units of the Thermal Power House, Jamshoro, started functioning on Wednesday after hectic efforts by the engineers of the power house while another was still under repair.

The chief engineer, TPH, Abu Adil, told this correspondent that the damaged machinery of the unit was repaired at the TPH workshop by expert engineers while work on the second unit was underway.
