KARACHI: Foundation of boys college laid in SITE


KARACHI, Oct 23: The City District Government Karachi has started work on the construction of a boys degree college in Metroville SITE town at a cost of Rs47 million.

The work is expected to be completed in one and-a-half years. The college would be equipped with latest facilities.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan laid the foundation-stone of the college on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Nazim said that the City Government wanted to bring the backward areas of city at par with the developed areas of city.

Metroville included in that list of areas where no project, essential for the area, was launched by previous governments, he said, adding that two colleges, one hospital, a library, a community centre and a park have been established in the area and water supply lines have been laid since the inception of the city government.

He claimed that development work witnessed in Metroville in the last two years was never observed in the last 56 years, adding, all the roads and streets have been cemented in Metroville.

He further said that the city government had paid special attention to education whereas literacy centres are being established everywhere in the city.

He remarked that the union councillors have to play an important role in spreading education and asked them to pay full attention to this sector.
