HYDERABAD: Partisan role of police in LG by-elections denied

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Oct 23: Dadu DPO Ali Akbar Bhangwar has denied reports about the kidnappings of councillors and the alleged partisan role of district police in the by-elections for the post of district Naib Nazim.

In a statement on Wednesday, he said, the allegations were baseless and some people had unleashed this propaganda to defame the police.

He said this was abundantly clear from the result of Kotri taluka where 100 per cent votes were cast.

He said if any councillor was kidnapped or threatened, police was ready to register his FIR.

He claimed the police held the councillors in high esteem and it was legally bound to protect them.
