RIYADH: The protest call given by the London-based Movement for Islamic Reform in nine cities of Saudi Arabia reportedly fizzled out.

Early reports indicated police contingents were present in large numbers in most of the cities and that at least in Riyadh, Al-Hassa and Jeddah people did not respond to the call for staging demonstration.
