SWABI, Oct 22: NWFP Assembly Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan said on Wednesday that the United States and its were threatening Iran and Syria after occupying Afghanistan and Iraq and Pakistan might also face a threat in future.

“To foil these aggressive designs, we must strengthen our defence and create unity in our ranks, so that the integrity and independence of the country remained intact,” he said at the launching ceremony of a Pushto poetry book, Da Hasratuno Salay, written by Tasavar Manerwal.

The ceremony, presided over by reputed poet Rehmat Shah Sahil, was organized by the Dam Qalam Swabi.

He said the US and its allies recognized Muslims as a threat to their global interest, so they were being targeted.

He said the East and West had no enmity with each other and different powers had joined hands against the Muslims.

The US, he said, wanted to occupy the Muslim counties one after the other.

He said Washington had never been Pakistan’s friend and it had only used the country as a tool.

He said the situation in South Asian was deteriorating and frustration among the people had surfaced.

He said the flaws in the system were causing problems for the government.

He said efforts should be made for defending national dignity and sovereignty.
