2 killed in bank robbery

QUETTA, Oct 22: Two persons including a bank manager were killed and two others were injured in firing during a robbery in the Habib Bank branch of Shahrag, some 150km east, here on Wednesday.

The injured included a bank security guard who was taken to the civil hospital Quetta.

According to reports, three armed men entered the Habib Bank branch and asked the cashier to hand over all cash. The security guard present in the bank tried to block their way, but the outlaws opened indiscriminate fire and killed bank manager Abdul Razaq on the spot. A passer-by Abdul Wahid also died in firing.

In an exchange of fire, the security guard, Mohammad Sharif, received bullet injuries.

The area people rushed to the incident site after hearing fires and caught one of the dacoits along with the looted money. But two other dacoits managed to escape. The criminal was identified as Mohammad Daud who was later handed over to police.
